Who Wore It Better? Kim Hyun Joo or Lim Soo Hyang?

(MBC) Twinkle Twinkle lead actress Kim Hyun Joo and (SBS) New Tales of Gisaeng star Lim Soo Hyang became a hot topic when they were spotted wearing the same bag.

They have different style which suits their respective roles. However, they say that wearing the same bag (even if they introduce a different style) will turn off the viewers' attention.

Kim Hyun Joo wears a purple-colored blouse with pink polka dot patterns that matches her striped skirt that creates a bouncy style but with an elegant look. The white bag gets your attention.

While Lim Soo Hyang pairs it with a clean white jacket and a combination of feminine pink and white dress. Her styles introduces unity and elegance. But not lively to look at.

Well, they look beautiful with their different style. But who wore it better? Who looks prettier? Kim Hyun Joo or Lim Soo Hyang?

Kim Hyun Joo Attends Marc Jacobs' 2011 F/W Show in Seoul

A blend of black and gold! I love it!
It was August 24, 2011 when a number of stars travelled to the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul to attend the Marc Jacobs F/W 2011 Fashion Show. Kim Hyun Joo was one of the stars who came.

It welcomes the Winter season with the 70s funky look along with the introduced bags. The collection's fashion points lay in pencil skirts that molded against one’s figure, polka dot patterns, latex, and lace. What do you think about Kim Hyun Joo's dress? Her style?

The celebrity guest-list also included Song Yoon Ah, Jang Yoon Ju, Gong Hyo Jin, Sung Yuri, G-Dragon, Sooyoung, YoonA, and many more.

She looks so elegant.

What Cha Tae Hyun Has To Say About Kim Hyun Joo

Cha Tae Hyun says his kissing scene with Kim Hyun Joo is the most memorable for him.
He still remembered how wonderful it is to kiss her beautiful and thick lips (then laughter comes after his explanations.. haha~ the 5th and 6th picture were funny. Okay~ Kim Hyun Joo is the Korean Angelina Jolie). :-)

This topic was not new.. It first came out on August 23, 2011 but decided to not to post anything about it yet because I haven't made clarifications about it. Thanks to our wonderful forum friends.

Cha Tae Hyun is Kim Hyun Joo's co-star in the MBC Dramas "Ready Go!" (1998) and "Into the Sunlight" (1999)

An Interview with Kim Hyun Joo

Arirang TV's "Star Focus" interview with Kim Hyun Joo. The interview took place a year ago at the publication of her needlework essay. But I still like to share it to everyone.

Kim Hyun Joo is always remembered as a bubbly and funny actress. Star Focus goes in depth on our shining star Kim Hyun Joo who makes those around her happy with her pleasant smile as she transforms into a writer.

________________________________________________________

KHJ: Hello Arirang TV Showbiz Extra viewers, I'm Kim Hyun Joo. I think we're meeting up after a long time. I'm extremely happy to meet you.

Q: How have you been?

KHJ: I've been spending each day busily. I think it's been a long time for our Arirang TV viewers since we last met. I finished the drama called "Partner" last summer and now have released a book. For the past few months until now, I've been focusing on my book.

Q: Needlework essay?

KHJ: As a hobby I've been making things through needlework and knitting. When that built up to 10 years, the things I made were filled with memories and trivial stories. I wanted to introduce my productions and show people how to make it and I think it's a book filled with memories for the past 15 years since my debut and also a chance to tell everyone about it through this book.

Q: Did you expect the first edition to be sold out?

KHJ: Honestly I didn't get my hopes up. Because just the process of making this book was to me very cherishable and important and I thought that even just the fact that this book is out was a success. But the response was amazing during the pre-sales and I was extremely thankful and happy. And hearing that it was sold out made me happier. Do show me more interest.

Q: Future production plans?

KHJ: I'll be returning soon. There are many actually (laughs). I said that I wanted to try this and that but the book-making process was tough. But it was an enjoyable work. And since it was something I've never experienced before it felt new and fun, so I want to try it more but am hesitant to do so, wondering if everyone else would like it or not. OK. I'll do it. Hahaha.

SF: Maybe a small hint?

KHJ: Essay. :-)

Jan. 6th, 2010... On the set of the educational clip for "Good Neighbors"....

SF: You look very flamboyant today?

KHJ: Really? We're in the midst of producing an educational video clip about taking part in good deeds. So I think that's why I look more flamboyant. Not the clothes. Or is it because of my outfit? :-)

Q: What's this filming for?

KHJ: It's an educational video clip that teaches children about doing good deeds from an early age. It's not boring but it does introduce children from the other side of the world, and presents footage with me narrating it so that the children can feel that other kids are living under tough conditions. And this clip will help you draw out the feelings of doing good deeds.

**Fact: Kim Hyun Joo debuted in 1996 through singer Kim Hyun Chul's music video. At that time, she dominated the commercial industry with her bright image, and became a top-notch star.**

Q: In your 15th year since your debut, what has changed the most?

KHJ: I think I've gotten prettier since then. ^^, At that time I was young so I was pretty but truthfully nothing big has changed. My heart's still the same since then and now. But I think those who see me think otherwise. So to get on with the times I try to act like an adult but nothing has changed since then and now. If there's anything it's that my physical strength is a bit... (she laughs) and that I pay a bit more attention when smiling?

Q: Most memorable production?

KHJ: The drama called "Glass Slippers" is for me, my favorite work from all of my productions... I think that drama gave me the opportunity to interview with Arirang TV. The drama was well-loved overseas and gave me a chance to make many overseas fans. And so that became a turning point and whether it was acting or other things it made me mature more. And amongst all the dramas I've done it was one that received the most love.

Q: Appearing in the drama "Boys Over Flowers?"

KHJ: It was really fun. A lot of handsome and glowing actors appeared so it was enjoyable filming together.

Q: What made you decide to appear in it?

KHJ: I did that production with the thought of wanting to show a different image, and when working on a drama with my name on it it's really difficult to do those characters so I thought that it was a good opportunity as I was just taking a break then, so in all honesty I appeared in it with the thought that it would be fun to play with a light heart. But unlike what I thought there were a lot of scenes and it kept increasing, I just thought that it was new and a lot of fun, it would be nice to try on a lot of pretty clothes, but the reaction in Korea was good and many said that they enjoyed and liked seeing a new side of me so I was happy as well. And hearing that it was popular overseas as well made me feel good and I think I should do more roles like this in the future.

Q: Any characters you want to act?

KHJ: I want to act a character that has a lot of fire. Until now I was the byword of poverty... (laughing) but I've always wanted to try unique characters. For example a mentally ill person or an addict. I think I'll pull it off perfectly.

Q: Happiest moment?

KHJ: I don't think I had any but looking back I think it was overall happy. After "Glass Slippers" I took my first break and at that time I took a two-year break in Korea. I think I was happy then. The production ended well and for the first time since my debut I was on my first break, so I have good memories about that time. Even now I think I'm doing well.

Unlike her prim image, Kim Hyun-joo performed tough and common characters to perfection. She could have remained as an actress who only had beauty, but that was not the case for Kim Hyun-joo , who always chose unexpected characters.

Q: What kind of an actress do you want to be remembered as?

KHJ: I don't think "how" is important. I think just becoming a person who others remember is important. Being remembered means that a person has a distinct color and I found out that it wasn't an easy job to find and take care of that color. I think one succeeds just by doing that. So I wish I can just be an actress who is remembered.

Q: Last words?

KHJ: Every time the new year comes around I promise that I will meet everyone a step closer but that wasn't the case last year I think. I hope this year will be filled  with meeting everyone through good productions and good news as often as possible. I will do my best to find a good project as soon as possible and get closer to everyone. Thank you for enjoying you date with me until now. Happy New Year! Thank you. :-)

**Kim Hyun-joo is a lovable actress who never looses her smile. We can feel that she is really happy through her lovely smile. Actress Kim Hyun-joo lingers in many people's memories. We'll keep an eye on her success, and see what distinct color she will show in the future.**

An Interview with Kim Hyun Joo on Twinkle Twinkle's Success

The gist of the interview:

"The shooting of Twinkle Twinkle has been particularly hard for me, but it holds special meanings to me," Kim Hyun Joo said. As a bright and bubbly JW who experienced drastic changes in life but eventually achieved success, Kim Hyun Joo has successfully portrayed the outstanding and exceptional JW according to what the scriptwriter has perceived her to be. Twinkle Twinkle was the only one MBC drama which broke the 20% rating over the past 7 years and emerged as the winner among weekend dramas.

In fact, KHJ also experienced a long period of slowdown and setback before making a successful comeback at Twinkle Twinkle. In an interview on 17 August in a cafe at Apgujeong, KHJ said, "I feel a lot of love from people. But I also feel a lot of pressure. During the shooting of this drama I was surrounded by very good atmosphere and the overwhelming responses from the viewers are also very encouraging."

"JW is like the name of this drama, really transparent and clear like a crystal. I also hope to raise a daughter like JW in the future. At my age, I have experienced the troubles of JW so at a certain degree I can understand her struggles."

"I don't think I have a great voice. At least my voice is quite lovely and I find it acceptable. In real life I seldom practice solo singing. Due to having a deep voice, I don't sing really well. A few days ago I even had a discussion with my friends about my performance of JW's out-of-tune singing."

"In the last episode, I sang a lullaby to the mother Hwang. I really shot the scene with my real emotions and feelings and I also tried really hard to hold back my tears. My mother was really into this drama. She is even jealous about my intimacy with the mother Hwang in the drama," she laughed.

About the rating, she said, "The ratings were basically up to my expectations but it was still a bit behind the expectation of the majority of the crew. Anyhow, all the actors are very satisfied with the ratings."

The filming schedule was really tough for her and she felt overloaded. "The life of an actor seems really glamorous, but in reality it isn't. The shooting schedule was really tight and every time I could only sleep for a while. Of course I would hold grudges about this arrangement and there were indeed several times I thought of running away! But I knew that it was meaningless to keep on complaining and as an actor this is my responsibility to endure this hardship and complete the task at its best. Therefore I focused myself on every detail so as to achieve the best. The most diffcult period was early March, during which I hardly had any rest and I had to shoot the scenes non-stop and overnight. In the end I had to go to hospital to get an IV drip thrice. Although the filming was difficult, I felt encouraged by the whole crew and the good atmosphere. All the hard work was really worthwhile," she laughed.

Trying many lovely and kind characters, KHJ said, "I really want to try a villain role in my next project, such as the type of a cold and evil but lovely woman. As a thirty-something actress, I have not tried a villain role. This is quite a regret to an actor. I hope in the near future I can show off another aspect of my acting."

Kim Hyun Joo is being sued for approximately $274,000 by her management

Kim Hyun Joo has gone under dispute with her management company. This isn't the first controversy our dear Kim Hyun Joo has gone through.

The H Entertainment (Kim Hyun Joo's management), stated that:
Kim Hyun Joo unilaterally cancelled her contract in the middle of June.
According to SportsChosun, the management have filed a claim to the Seoul Southern District Court for approximately $ 274,000 USD.

This is what the H Entertainment wrote in the complaint:
we started off as a manager and actress in 2005 and the relationship lead to partnership starting from November of 2009. However, problem between us arose when balancing contracting fees for MBC's "Shiny Shiny Shining", and Kmi Hyun Joo notified us of unilaterally cancelling her contract with us around the middle of June. In ending our partnership, we request approximately $ 274,000 USD of which she exceedingly received from total profits.
Kim Hyun Joo has gained much popularity ever since MBC's "Shiny Shiny Shining" has started airing. She returned to her acting career after one year and six months.

We have no idea why Kim Hyun Joo has decided to part ways with The H Entertainment. The management must have done something wrong that made her cancel her contract. We hope that the two parties will settle things down nicely.

Kim Hyun Joo, She Has Fallen Into Her Hobby

This is an old but valuable article. Hope you enjoy!
**Translated by Dahee Fanel
*Special thanks to Kevin and cutegurl87

First, the reason I heard about this was because I talked to a person who went on a trip with her. As soon as they boarded the plane and sat down in their seats, she lowered the table, and with a crinkling sound, took out something that covered the entire table. She even took out her glasses and put them on to thread the needle, and started to sew some unrecognizable fabric. That's right. She had gone crazy over the handmade dolls.

They went to Japan in that way. All night long, she sat at the makeup table in the hotel, and sewed underneath the blinking electric lamp. That person told me jokingly that looking at her back as she wordlessly sewed while dressed in pajamas was like watching a horror movie. She was devoting herself to getting the doll's arms and legs attached, and putting it in a dress.

A person's self as a star is fake no, not exactly fake, but it's not true that image is the second thing considered when filtering out the few who go on the TV and big screen. It was hard to get close to the girl with the specific personality who was exposed on TV and in interviews. We've never seen her show melting, laughing eyelight or such honest-seeming civility when listening to others like we have with Lee Young Ae. She's like a cool, stinging carbonated beverage. Although she is indeed cheerful and lively, she seemed to have a hard protective wall around her that it seemed introverted people wouldn't receive permission to cross. That was what was enclosing her.

And then, after she showed them her hand-made dolls with proud eyes, as though it was a baby, they thought that they hadn't noticed from her outward appearance that she had realized a strategy for existence by being a so-called "entertainer". Because I wanted to show them to you today, I didn't get much sleep for two days. I really wanted to show them to you when they were finished. I think I can perfect this bride wearing the wedding dress that I'm making right now before I start shooting. If I'm shooting right now, I can straighten this neck right away. Where's my sewing kit She gently fixes the doll's head on one side, checks to see if the ribbon is crooked or not, and observes the back of the dress to see if it's arranged nicely. Right now, her expression is freshening from that of a person of society to someone confined within themselves.

The two big methods of being a good entertainer are composure so that no one can think they look easy, and happy laughter that allows anyone to get closer or farther as they please, at any time. She has chosen her method. She has the image of a person who goes to bed at ten o' clock and gets up at seven o' clock in the morning. Everything that surrounds her has its own firm place, so that she doesn't look like a careless person, and has an appropriate calmness.

As life as an entertainer lengthens, many of them hide in their houses. They get rid of their diplomatic faces. The only place where they aren't involved in bloody contests are at home. She is, of course, the same way. Her method is of restlessly going to and from home and refilling her energy. She gets drunk on a tranquil rest a time when she doesn't need to be nervous. Sewing offers a peaceful time for her. I made a lot of things at home while I was resting. I don't go out often.

Sewing is a very solitary, womanly, and passive hobby. It's a hobby that offers solitary people a comfortable moment. The thing that gave her irregular and rhythmical actress schedule's disgustingly fickle, mechanical flow a monotonous tranquility is sewing. Thats why making dolls is not a hobby, but a rest for her.

Knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, quilting I've done everything connected to sewing. Then I found this on the internet. There are a lot of websites (on it). I look at the completed doll and then I click and pay. Then I get delivered a DIY package. The dolls she's finished up until now are from the DIY package. She's still in the practice stage. She fills the body (of the doll) with wool to make it plump, and imagines the day when she can dress it in clothes identical to John Galliano's. It seems that there will come a day when the dolls she's made will be displayed in the window of a shop in Abgujung Street.

Once you explain your hobbies, you come to think of opening your self to the world. While Ang Ang (I think it's a Chinese filmNo clue what the title is) is out right now, she is not in Korea. That's because she's in Hong Kong to film "Star Runner" that is being directed by Lee In-hang (??), who made "Sung-wul Tale". She's planning to return to Korea in the fall, after she's finished filming this movie that she's doing with the leader of the F4, Vanness Wu. During those two months, she sews again. This time, she went there with a mini sewing machine. That's because she hasn't forgotten her promise to make her friends, the Kim Ji Ho-Kim Ho Jin couple, pajamas. If we look at it that way, we remember that the accessories on the cell phones of the people she worked with were presents from her. She said that when she quilts, she uses the remaining pieces to make the doll clothes, and with the remains of those, she uses them to make something. She said that she thought of each person she was going to give it to, and made them all individually, each with a different appearance.

Imagine her sewing while wearing glasses and pajamas. Even if she changed into a character in a movie or other, would she be this lovable and charismatic? Sometimes, when they're alone, people reveal their most beautiful selves without knowing it. Just like her.

Korean Drama Twinkle Twinkle's Kim Seok Hoon and Kim Hyun Joo's Last Sad Farewell Dinner

Kim Seok Hoon (Song Seung Joon) and Kim Hyun Joo (Han Jung-Won) eventually celebrated farewell.

Got this story from a Korean site. I'm sorry I only understand a few Korean but this is how it goes.

This episode was aired on the 16th of July as the two were getting ready for dinner. The couple's situation gets worse that it has come to them like a big deal with adversity. How can't it be worse when there's Hwang Geum Ran who also likes Seung Joon? And the fact that both of their families don't like their relationship makes it more painful.

Seung Joon eventually chose to surrender rather than facing the adversity. He wants to part ways with Jung Won. He said those words with teary eyes.

Jung Won tries to hold on but Seung Joon didn't change his mind. He loves Jung Won so much that he had to let go of her so that she won't get hurt. It ended up hitting a sad goodbye.

Meanwhile, I've read some speculations from other KDrama sites that in the end, Seung Joon reluctantly decided to become a loan shark. The statement raised viewers' questions about whether he really turned into a loan shark or not. Curious? Let's find out how the story will go on the 17th.

"Broken Up" With Kim Hyun Joo

This is an old article about the rumored relationship of Kim Hyun Joo and So Ji Sub. And because some of the fellow fans would like to know about it more, we decided to post it here. I'd like to thank Dahee Fanel for translating this article. We just like to point out that this article may not be true; it contains at least one big mistake, where it says Kim Hyun Joo is shy and So Ji Sub is cheerful, when it's really the opposite. So please read it with a critical mind.

Actors Kim Hyun Joo (23) and So Ji Sub (24) have broken up. It was revealed that the "Macaw Couple", the Kim Hyun Joo-So Ji Sub couple, about whom there had been many rumours among the entertainers, broke up two months ago.

The reason the two of them broke up is because of their opposite personalities. So Ji Sub is very cheerful, while Kim Hyun Joo is very shy, and thus they didn't match each other well. There's also the possibility that the root cause of the break-up could be that the two of them didn't get to see each other very much because they were both busy shooting.

Kim Hyun Joo has been shooting the MBC drama "That Woman's House" and "Sang Do", and has been very busy. So Ji Sub, as well, has been busy shooting Lee Hyun Woo's music video and a CF for Litmus Clothing after finishing the SBS drama "Law Firm".

Recently, at a meeting with some colleagues, Kim Hyun Joo stated that "We loved each other. But we didn't date each other in order to get married" and "We still have good feelings for each other, and we're going to remain friendly colleagues." So Ji Sub told an acquaintance, "My heart is hurting. But we're going to remain friendly colleagues so we can help each other as actors."

Kim Hyun Joo and So Ji Sub shot a KBS program together in 1997, and had good impressions of each other. Then actor Lee Jong Soo introduced Kim Hyun Joo to So Ji Sub, and they began dating seriously.

Kim Hyun Joong: ‘I Am Trying to Be Cynical”

"I have too placid of a temper, so I am trying to be cynical.” -Kim Hyun Joong

Kim Hyun Joong, who became a star actor by appearing in the drama “Boys Over Flowers,” will make a comeback to the small screen by appearing in KBS’s new Wednesday and Thursday drama “Mischievous Kiss" (written by Ko Eun Nim, directed by Hwang In Roi and Kim Do Hyung). The drama is about a genius but cynical male protagonist named Paek Seung Jo, who has an IQ of 200 and meets an impatient troublemaking female protagonist named Oh Ha Ni (Jung So Min). They will present a pleasant and cheerful love story in the drama.

Kim Hyun Joong had played Yoon Hi Hoo in “Boy Over Flowers,” and he made a comeback after a one year and six month break after finishing “Boy Over Flowers.” He explained about the character Paek Seung Jo, whom he will play, by saying, “The character is a mixture of Koo Joon Pyo and Yoon Ji Hoo in ‘Boys Over Flowers.’”

In the production presentation held in the Imperial Palace Hotel in Nonhyundong on August 26, Kim said, ”He has a warm heart inside, but he becomes a cynical person because he cannot express his genuinely warm temperament. I am trying to act as cynical as possible, but the director wants me to act more cynically, so I am studying how I can become more cynical.”

The production company Group Eight explained Paek Seung Jo is an “entirely different kind of genius,” who can read 20,000 letters and memorize 400 words in a single minute. Kim Hyung Joong said with a smile, “Honestly, it is very difficult to play a character with an IQ of 200. I am actually speaking lines of some totally new vocabulary that I have never known so far, and the words such as 'equation' and 'log' appear in the script, so it is like studying again in high school.”

About the question regarding his somewhat delayed comeback to acting after “Boys Over Flowers,” Kim answered, “I had performed very hard as a singer so far by releasing an album.” He added, “Before taking this role, I was worried about how I can play a high school student because I am already 25 years old. But I had been informed that the production director Hwang In Roi would direct this drama, so I applied to have an audition and earned the role of a high school student. While acting, I am trying to speak as aggressively as possible. I sometimes have to shout and show a disheveled appearance in the drama, so I might be able to present more interesting acting than I did in ‘Boys Over Flowers.’”

Kim Hyun Joong, who belongs to the group SS501, had been caught up in controversy over his acting ability due to his rather inaccurate pronunciation. He said, “I am practicing speaking while biting a cork stopper to create more accurate pronunciation. I still feel ashamed when people call me an actor. I am acting as an actor, but it is still more natural for me to stand on the stage as a singer. As I am trying very hard to acquire qualifications to become a real actor, I think that I might be able to say confidently that I am an actor someday in the future. I will be happy if I can hear people’s evaluation saying, ‘He put more effort on acting in this drama than when he appeared in ‘Boys Over Flowers.’”

Kim Hyun Joong had signed an agency contract with Keyeast, in which star Hallyu actor Bae Young Joon is the largest shareholder, last June when his next appearance in a drama had not yet been decided. Kim explained, “I moved to the new agency because I thought that I could get a lot of help for my further activities both as a singer and an actor. I mostly talk about personal matters in conversations with Bae Yong Joon, and I am learning many things about self-management from him.”

Kim Hyun Joong also candidly said, “I actually feel pressured because the drama ‘Mischievous Kiss’ is my first TV appearance after the hit ‘Boys Over Flowers.’ If I say that I have no pressure about the viewer ratings, it would be a lie. It is the same as the activities as a singer. For singers, the second album is more important than the first album, and I think that acting is the exactly the same because the second work is more important than the first work. So, I am trying my best to show a better performance. I know that the competing drama ‘Bread, Love, and Dreams,’ which airs on the different broadcasting station, has high viewer ratings, but I want you to watch my drama because it will be much more exciting and interesting.”

Kim Hyun Joo Is A Heart Jjang

**This is an old article about Kim Hyun Joo. We would like to share it to all of you. If you want to know more about Hyun Joo unni, this post is for you.**

[Metro 2005.09.29 09:00:39]
Translated by Dahee Fanel

New actor Yoon Sang Hyun from the SBS drama "To Marry A Millionaire" said "Thanks to sunbae's** encouragement, my nervousness vanished" and "I started liking her because of her heart, rather than her face." New actor Yoon Sang Hyun revealed his thoughts about his sunbae, actress Kim Hyun Joo. He has received the blessing of being Kim Hyun Joo's partner in the SBS drama "To Marry A Millionaire". Unable to hide his nervousness, he assumed a bashful smile. In the show, he plays the perfect man Yoon Jin-ha, who possesses good looks, talent, and wealth. He gets poor guy Kim Young-hoon (Go Soo) to pretend to be a millionaire on a TV show, and is the PD in charge of the happenings surrounding Kim Young-hoon's being wooed by the beauties. In a moment of confusion, Han Eun-young (Kim Hyun Joo) goes on the show, and he senses her charms. He then goes through unrequited love for only her while breaking up the Go Soo-Kim Hyun Joo couple, who are each other's first love. "At first you'll notice only his exterior, but little by little, he realizes genuine love and experiences internal strife. He's that kind of person. It's great luck for me to be able to act with these two sunbaes whom I've always respected. Kim Hyun Joo sunbae, especially, is a very lovable and charming person, no matter how you look at her." On the 22nd of this month, at the Kyung-ki Province, Il-san SBS production centre, while practising for the first script, Yoon Sang Hyun added "I'm very grateful to Kim Hyun Joo for warmly encouraging me when I was feeling so nervous during the first shoot of the drama." The producer of "To Marry A Millionaire" is Kang Shin Hyo, who was the PD of the SBS drama "All In". "To Marry A Millionaire" is based on an American reality show called "Joe Millionaire". With this motive, they created this Korean drama.

Kim Hyun Joong to Appear in Cameo in ‘Dream High’

Singer and actor Kim Hyun Joong (24) will make a cameo appearance in the KBS 2TV drama “Dream High,” which will air from next January.

In the drama, which Bae Yong Joon and Park Jin Young co-produced, Kim Hyun Joong will play a star actor who is coming back to the country after conducting overseas activities.

Kim filmed the scene in which he met Bae Young Joon, who plays the chairman of the board of Kirin Art School, the best star training school, at the Incheon international airport on December 7. It was the first time that Kim Hyun Joong and Bae Yong Joon appeared in a scene together after Kim had transferred to Bae’s agency, Keyeast. The production company of “Dream High” said, “Bae Yong Joon monitored Kim’s acting and carefully provided advice about his acting. We had actually planned to film the scene without advance notice as we had worried that too many people might gather at the airport, but many fans were waiting at the airport from the early morning anyway and the entrance of the airport was almost blocked.”

“Dream High,” which will air its first episode on January 3, will portray the process of how students at Kirin Art School become world stars through constant challenges.

The Complex That Kim Hyun Joo Revealed

**This is an old article about Kim Hyun Joo. We would like to share it to all of you. If you want to know more about Hyun Joo unni, this post is for you.**
----------------------------------------------------------

Because Kim Hyun Joo acted lively characters, she has the image that she suits them. As an actress, she doesn't have the kind of good looks that jump out at you, but she possesses the ability to entertain you. With that kind of image, it surely has the consequence of suiting Kim Hyun Joo's acting. The SBS drama that she shot, "Miss Kim's Million Dollar Project", was a production that really suited her image. The character of "Eun Jae" that she portrayed was a character that had to show a bit of a foolish appearance. And as the viewers watched her, at whatever time, they were entertained.

Along with the appearance of an Eun Jae who stubbornly collected money, Kim Hyun Joo also acted and filled in the appearance of Sun Woo in the SBS drama "Glass Slipper". I'm talking about the appearance of her being able to optimistically get up and brush herself off with a smile, no matter how terrible the circumstance. That's why viewers open up their hearts to Kim Hyun Joo's acting. Rather than a senseless liveliness, Kim Hyun Joo's face fills the kind of liveliness of being able to receive hardship and get back up strongly.

Even during the second half of "The Land", when Choi Suh Hee had become a 50-year-old grandmother who'd passed middle age, the producer didn't demand for her to put on an unreasonable disguise of an aged person. That's because they decided that it didn't suit Kim Hyun Joo's image. Before it was produced, they had a plan to make it so that Choi Suh Hee became "old gracefully"; in a pretty way.

Although of course she gained popularity from fans with her cute face, Kim Hyun Joo diffidently has a lot of complexes about her face. A lot of actresses are having long-term plastic surgery, and although she says "I'm satisfied with my current face", Kim Hyun Joo also says that "There are a lot of parts of me that I don't like." She reveals her complexes honestly.

"One time, while shooting, I said that I liked my eyebrows, and that 'I can never shave my eyebrows, no matter what role I take'. But after thinking it over, I don't think they're part of an actor's figure. I used to like my eyes, but as I grew older, well, I don't know if it's because I was hardened by the rough-and-tumble of life, but I think they became strange-looking. I have a few freckles, but I think they look natural, so they're okay. My ears are too small, and my face is a little long. I don't like the shape of my face, either..."

Let's analyze Kim Hyun Joo's face. Like her own assessment, it isn't a perfect face. Her rather thick lips look swollen, and helped create a cute image for her. Of course, her face is small, and although the real thing is much prettier, her cheekbones are a little protuberant. Her jawline, too, isn't a model of traditional beauty.

For an actor, it's good to feel strong about your own face, and it's good to be honest. Even as she reveals all this, her strong posture is Kim Hyun Joo's strong point. The thing I'm really curious about is how Kim Hyun Joo's lively image will change as she grows older. What I'm sure about is that the role of Choi Suh Hee in "The Land" was one which gave her the opportunity to show her maturity, rather than her liveliness.

Kim Hyun Joo debuted in 1997 in Kim Hyun Chul's music video "One's Lifetime". With the MBC drama "The Reason I Live", she was able to advance into the T.V. screen. With her debut in "The Reason I Live", Kim Hyun Joo became a star who grabbed attention in one stroke. In the drama "Club Waitress", Kim Hyun Joo was called by the nickname "Miss I-Don't-Know", and she gained popularity.

From her debut, Kim Hyun Joo received a stroke of good luck. She was quick with her big-screen debut, as well. She shot her first movie, 1998's "If Snow Falls At Christmas", with Park Yong Ha, and she shot her next movie, "Calla", with Kim Hee Sun and Song Seung Hun. By shooting a udong CF, too, her words "The soup tastes awesome" were copied a lot, and she gained popularity.

"I like perfect men"

These days, Kim Hyun Joo is trying to prove that she's not a "One Hit Wonder", and is shooting one drama after another. Behind her is "That Woman's House", "Sang Do", "Into the Sunlight", "Glass Slipper" and "Miss Kim's Million Dollar Project". Thus, Kim Hyun Joo made a strong resolution to be a star in the entertainment industry who would be guaranteed to be seen in the T.V. screen, and walked far away from the road of movies.

However, the movie she shot for the first time in five years is "Shinsukki Blues" with Lee Sung Jae. Kim Hyun Joo has never received good praise for a movie, so this shooting of a movie in a long time was a challenge that brought burden and anticipation. Although Lee Sung Jae's transformation into an ugly man was the topic of conversation, the Kim Hyun Joo who stood beside him carried the burden of using not her acting with her body, but acting with her heart to gain new fans. In the end, "Shinsukki Blues" wasn't able to gain big popularity, but luckily, after being cast in "The Land", she was able to let go of her anxiety and sell out her acting.

Let's take a look at Kim Hyun Joo's early days. The lecturer at the acting academy who taught her how to act was Ms. Kim Ji Soo, and she highly praised Kim Hyun Joo's humanity, saying that more than anything else, Kim Hyun Joo considers being on time to be very important. Ms. Kim said "Hyun Joo has not once been late for an appointment. She's the antithesis to the new actors who always make up excuses about their schedules or break appointments or neglect their acting studies. I already thought then that Hyun Joo would attain greatness."

From her fellow actors, too, Kim Hyun Joo receives recognition for her humanity. Kim Hyun Joo is unable to act if she doesn't become friends with the actors she's shooting with. She has to feel comfortable in order to be able to act naturally. There are actors, who are true pros and who are thorough with their acting, who become friendly with their co-stars, and when they leave the production site, they stop being friends. She is able to create a soft atmosphere for the production site.

That's why she sometimes gets into scandals with her co-stars. Even so, the reality of it is, she herself doesn't care about that. Even when she was shooting "Glass Slipper", and various accounts and news reports came out regarding her relationship with So Ji Sub, whom she'd become friends with, she received it all calmly. On MBC's "Section TV Entertainment Correspondence", she was an MC with Suh Kyung Suk. On-air, "half-joking, half-serious", he confessed his love for her. Even then, Kim Hyun Joo handled it proficiently.

When Kim Hyun Joo described her ideal man, this writer was a little startled. Without reservation, she says "I like perfect men." She says, "I really dislike being embarrassed or feeling inferior to someone. I'd like it if my boyfriend was the kind of person that all the resourceful people would be envious of." She also revealed that it'd be okay to marry a fellow entertainer. But honestly, what woman would turn down a perfect man? It's just that it's difficult for them to say it honestly. Especially for actresses, during interviews, when they talk of their ideal man, it's normal for them to reply unabashedly, "I like people with good personalities." Kim Hyun Joo's charm lies in her very honest personality.
